Obtaining a scholarship for MBBS in Nepal can be quite difficult, but it is certainly achievable with hard work and determination. To qualify, a candidate must score above 155 in the general merit list and between 130-150 under the reserved category, with the level of competition varying based on the reservation category. There are a total of 417 scholarship seats, while 1369 seats are available under the donation category, costing a tuition fee of around Rs 45 lakhs payable in three instalments. Despite the opportunity to study abroad, only a few students opt for it as the fees abroad are high, and the quality of education is not necessarily better than in Nepal. MBBS is a 5.5-year course, including an internship, and after that, one must pursue MD, which takes three years. MD candidates have access to over 400 scholarship seats and may have to pay Rs 25 lakhs for the course duration.


A. Eligibility
a. Passed 10+2 Science or equivalent (with Physics, Chemistry and Biology) with 50% aggregate in total marks or GPA 2.4 OR Secured the Percentage equivalent to the above eligibility regarding the certificate level programs (A-Level) with the different grading systems.
OR
b. Applicants who have passed the Health Science Proficiency Certificate Level /Diploma (General Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Radiography, Physiotherapy) containing Physics, Chemistry and Biology with a Certificate of Equivalence to Grade 12 Science program from National Examination Board.
AND
c. Secured at least 50% aggregate in total marks both in Diploma and the Examination for equivalence.
AND
d. Registered in Nepal Health Professional Council or Nepal Pharmacy Council or Nepal Ayurveda Council as per related educational program.
